A poster I created for an original play called Alone with Char, directed and written by Sierra DuCharme-Hansen.

"Alone with Char" was a play performed as part of Westminster College's 2017 One-Act Festival.

Fading Away

The poster for "Alone with Char" was a blast to figure out. The final effect of the characters dissipating into the wind was a thematic home run for the play, which involved characters drifting in and out of a dream.

The director wanted the characters to appear as if they were fading from a dream. That could mean any number of things, but I had this specific idea in mind as something that could work well.

The smokey effect was achieved through a series of layer masks in Adobe Photoshop. One layer served as the background with the majority of the detail and the actor's features, while a secondary layer added the wispy smoke effects.
